Tags

Tags are a way for users to label a build result with a keyword that helps other users know that the build falls into a category. For instance, if a build plan has a unit test that is failing because a module named UserInterfaceModule is being refactored and it is going to take three days to finish the implementation, users or managers may tag all of the failed builds during this time as 'UserInterfaceModule refactor' This is useful when going through builds later to determine what the cause of the failures was and also for team members to stay up to date with why a build is failing.

The Tags section on the Build Results page looks like this when there are no tags entered for a build result:

To add a tag, users simply enter the name they want to give for the tag in the textbox and then hit 'Add Tag'. The textbox will autocomplete with matches to any existing tags from all other build results. Once tags are entered the 'Tags' section looks like this:

As you can see the above 'Tags' section has 4 tags added. To remove a tag, simply enter the tags name in the textbox and hit 'Remove Tag'. If a user want to see what other build results are associated with a specific tag, he can click on the tag and that will take him to the Tags page which shows a build history table with only the build results that are associated with that tag. This page looks like this:

On this page, the title of the page is 'Missing Component 3' which is the name of the tag, and all build results in the build history table have been tagged with this tag.
