Administration

The Compass Administration page is accessible only to users who are site-wide administrators.  To access the administration page, as a user with the correct privileges, click on the 'Administration' button in the main menu.  On this page there are 9 sections:

1. Logs
2. Language Settings
3. Server Settings
4. Scripts
5. Build Configurations
6. Script Keywords
7. User Administration
8. Project Administration
9. Source-Control Server

From this list, it should be apparent that most of the administration of the Compass Server is managed on the Administration Page.  At the top of the page is a sub-menu that includes anchor links to the most commonly accessed sections on the administration page.  Below is a brief description of what each section controls in Compass and provides links to the documentation on each section.

The Logs section controls what and where Compass logs operational messages, internal warnings and errors   The Language Settings section control which language Compass is displayed in.    The Server Settings section controls how users and build clients connect to the Compass Server.   The Scripts Section controls where, what, and how scripts and script output is saved on the Compass Server.   The Build Configurations section controls what configurations Build Clients can build under and which Build Clients each build plans is executed on.     The Script Keywords section controls how scripts are sorted and searched through on the Compass Server.    The User Administration section controls the permission and access level for each user of Compass.    The Project Administration section controls Compass projects and user permissions for each project.     The Source-Control Administration section controls all the source-control servers and Compass interaction with each of them.
